Building of a large container warehouse

For Lego World 2018 (yes, you read this correct), I have started building a large container warehouse.

You can read about the work-in-progress at Eurobricks. Click on the image below to get there.

The warehouse will be part of the layout that will be displayed at Lego World 2018 (in Utrecht, the Netherlands).

  1. Hello Hans,
I was just curious as to how you’re using .NET with your NXT’s. I need some way of controlling an NXT and an EV3 from one computer, preferably through the EV3 itself and bluetooth between the two. Any suggestions? If not, that’s ok. I haven’t found anything useful yet from much searching through the internet.
    Thanks in advance, Tom

    1. Hi Tom,

We make use of the Monobrick library (http://www.monobrick.dk/) for the base connection. On top of that, we have written our own code. It is based on sending messages back and forth from the PC to the EV3 (and back). If you use Wifi, you have to write a special protocol using the file system (see the article about this here: https://siouxnetontrack.wordpress.com/2014/08/27/sending-data-over-wifi-between-our-pc-application-and-the-ev3-part-4/).

      Hope that this helps.

      Regards, Hans

  2. Hi Hans,
Do you have an LDD file showing how you got the worm gearing system to work? Would love to work on something like this with my students.

    Thanks Justin
